NOTES
John and Hester were married on 5 January, 1860. His second wife, Margaret, is also buried at Bethel. According to the 1900 Census, Margaret was the mother of three children, of whom, two, were still living; details of previous marriage are unknown. John committed suicide; at the time of his death he had lost two wives and four children—one, John—also by suicide.
